Hike #365N: Waterman Mountain, Angeles National Forest, CA (Narrative Version)
Visit Date: 7/16/25.
Waterman Mountain is a classic Angeles National Forest hike. To do it, I formed it into a loop to include the three notable summits on the wide plateau. The loop goes through the Mount Waterman Ski Resort and elevates to the three summits. I was surprised that the summit mostly avoided damage from recent fires. Because of that, I was able to enjoy the hike much like I did the first time I visited many years ago. After the satisfying loop, there is plenty of time to take on any other local hike to round out the day.
