We definitely weren’t expecting this on our way to Briançon! 🇫🇷🏔️
Our France & Switzerland motorhome adventure continues as we head towards Briançon — France’s highest city. But what should have been a straightforward journey quickly produces a rather expensive surprise!
Our route takes us through the enormous Fréjus Road Tunnel, briefly into Italy, before climbing back across the mountains into France and eventually reaching Briançon. If you want to avoid the tunnel, beware that the alternative has a 3.5t limit!
We explore its incredible fortified old town, cross the spectacular Pont d’Asfeld, wander through Parc de la Schappe and, completely by chance, arrive at a rather special time. We couldn’t have planned it better! 😄
It’s a slightly shorter adventure this week, but there’s a lot packed into it — spectacular Alpine scenery, history, an unexpected journey and one of those wonderful surprises that travelling by motorhome occasionally throws at you.
